Where Normal sits

Normal keeps the approachable starting point of the Easy collection but stops handing you the plainest definition every time. Clues can lean more on second meanings and light wordplay, so an answer you would have written straight in before may need a crossing letter or two before you commit.

The current Normal levels use the same 6x6-to-12x12 collection range. As the grid grows, there are more entries to keep track of and more ways to work backwards from a letter you already trust.

Coming from Easy

If you have finished most of the Easy collection, Normal keeps the same crossword format while asking a little more from the clue. When Normal stops slowing you down, Hard changes the clue style again rather than simply reaching for rarer words.
