Choosing a difficulty

The three collections differ in how their clues are written rather than in how obscure their answers are. Easy uses the plainest definition of each word. Normal leans on second meanings and light wordplay. Hard approaches the answer sideways, through misdirection and definitions that only read correctly once you have the word.

The current level lists are numbered and run from 6x6 to 12x12 grids. If crosswords are new to you, start with the beginner's guide and then Level 1 of Easy. If you already know the basics, choose the collection whose clue style suits the way you like to solve.
